Frequently asked questions

Is this retreat suitable for beginners?

Yes. You do not need previous experience with plant medicine to attend. In fact, our carefully structured 5-day ascending arc—beginning with physical cleansing (Kambo) and somatic grounding (Yoga & Pranayama)—is designed precisely to prepare both beginners and experienced journeyers for a deep, safe encounter with Ayahuasca.

What is "La Dieta" and why is it important?

La Dieta is a traditional Amazonian nutritional protocol. It involves abstaining from salt, sugar, red meat, alcohol, caffeine, and sexual activity for a specific period before and after the retreat. This is not a trendy ”detox.” It is an energetic purification that prepares your physical vessel to receive the medicine brightly and without interference. Our private chef prepares all retreat meals in strict accordance with La Dieta.

Is the process medically safe?

Safety is our absolute highest priority. This is why we require a comprehensive application form from every participant. Ayahuasca is deeply healing, but it is not suitable for individuals with certain cardiovascular conditions or those taking specific medications (such as SSRI antidepressants). You are held by a team of four: two indigenous wisdom keepers for energetic protection, and two experienced Nordic facilitators (Joakim and Satu) for somatic and psychological safety.

What if I feel overwhelmed during the ceremony?

You are never alone. While Taita Libardo guides the ceremonial space with his traditional Icaros (medicine songs), our facilitators Satu and Joakim are intimately present. If you need physical assistance, grounding, or a reassuring presence, we are immediately by your side.

Where does the retreat take place?

Our retreats are held at Vall de Dois, a beautifully protected and energetically cleansed sanctuary surrounded by nature, located conveniently near Barcelona, Spain. Accommodation is in high-quality shared rooms, providing the perfect balance of community and personal peace.
